Walkthrough: CSI: NY Episode 5: Derailed

notes:

You can skip two mini-games in each scene. There are two lights next to a Skip button on each mini-game that shows the status of skipped games. Skipping games will get you lower ratings at the end.

Click on underlined text in conversations to pursue topics. Completed topics will change colour from pink to white.

Drag items from the inventory to a person to ask questions about them.

Your Credibility depends on which questions and objects (and sometimes which part of a particular object) you choose to ask the suspect about. Your credibility decreases if you ask irrelevant questions.

You can only save in one slot you when exit the game.

This game is lucid and reasonable enough to finish without any hints if you’re an experienced adventure / puzzle / HOG gamer.

  2. Hi Sue,

I'm not aware of any bugs in the game. If it's not ending then something somewhere is being left out. I suggest you replay the episode step-by-step using the walkthrough, because I have completed the game using these exact steps - I write the walkthrough as I play. Good luck.

  3. Thank you for your suggestion. Now that you mentioned "bugs", I remember that during the installation I had to "omit" one item, so that could be it. Or is it that I don't feel like replaying the whole episode ;)? I don't think you could go to the final scene without EVERYTHING you need, the game is pretty directed -no free will- so..
Pero gracias por todo anyway! thank you!

  4. Hey Sue, I totally get not wanting to do all the forensics again :) But, I don't think your omitting something during installation (most probably Direct X) is the reason for this as you have finished the previous four cases and the cases open sequentially. It's also most likely NOT an item, but a conversation thread that hasn't been closed properly, which is why all loopholes of the case haven't been tied up, so to speak :) If you have a save game partway, you can retry from there. Anyway, it's been cool to talk to ya :) Happy gaming!

    1. That is true for most casual adventure games nowadays. Doesn't allow you to replay from a particular section.
